Problem to be Solved:

Which Form of Insulation is Most Effective in Clothing?

Hypothesis:

The Wool will work best because it is thick and has less air ways than the rest of the products.

Procedure:

Use six water-filled jars as models of the body. Fill the plastic bags with insulation. The materials you will need are:

2 cups of wool
2 cups of cotton
2 cups of flannel material
2 cups of human hair
2 cups of down feathers

Use six plastic bags and fill them with insulation. Save the last one as a control. Fill the jars with one pint of tap water. Then, take a thermometer and measure the temperature of each jar until they all reach 70 degrees Celsius . Close the lids. Place each jar in a different insulation bag including the bag with no insulation. Put the jars in the fridge for two hours. Every fifteen minutes record the temperatures and see how they change over time.

Conclusion:

Flannel is the best insulator in clothing. In my hypothesis I guessed that wool would be the best insulator. My hypothesis was incorrect. Wool was actually the worst insulator because it had the lowest temperatures. If I were to do my experiment again, I would have used more variables because the temperatures were so close in each of the materials.

Biblical Application:

Second Thessalonians 3:3 says "For the Lord is faithful... and will protect you from all evil." Just like insulation protects us from the cold, so also will God protect us from all evil.
